CONSULTANCY SERVICES
An effective safety and health committee will be setup to conduct and improve the overall health and safety performance as well as providing invaluable assistance to ensure our clients meet up to the local regulatory compliance (DOSH and relevant local authorities).
The key issue to safety when working on scaffolding boils down to whether or not the scaffold is safe to work on. As our esteemed client, this will not be a worry as our scaffolding will be erected by trained professionals under the supervision of our competent personnel. Material wise, our scaffolds are constantly inspected and certified before every project. All workers are equipped with proper protective equipment (PPE) and are thoroughly trained on safe work practices when working on scaffolding.
During the safety inspection, we will inspect the following areas and once recognized, any hazards present will be rectified or eliminated:
- Determine whether safeguards are in place
- Examine whether the equipment presents any hazards
- Gather air, water, and other samples to test for hazardous substances
- Observe work practices to identify unsafe actions
- Inspect and identify hazards
- Recognize communication concerns
- Label facility hazards to increase safety and efficiency
During a safety audit we will evaluate the current safety programs and practices within your organization and mitigate the following measures:
- Measure and collect information about current safety program’s reliability and effectiveness
- Look at whether the current safety program meets the company’s stated goals
- Examine the current safety training and response level
- Advice on remedial measure to further enhance the current safety program.
During Risk Assessment, we will assist to identify the hazards in the workplaces and assess the risks to safety and health at work presented by these hazards. The results of the Risk assessments will be written into the company Safety Statement.
We will develop all EHS related documentation exclusively according to client’s scope of expertise and industrial background in lieu with OSH Act 514, Clause 16.
We will develop all Safe Operation Procedures as stated in client’s Safety Policies as well as train the EHS personnel on running the procedures. We will deliver a customised mechanical safety design as per clients request if the local standard is unable to deliver the required safety measures.
Confined spaces generally refers to a space that is relatively small with unfavourable natural ventilation. Subsequently, one into which infrequent or irregular entry is made for purposes of maintenance, repair or cleaning. Example of confined spaces includes silos, tanks, vats, sewers, reaction vessels, ship compartments, sludge pits and boilers.
We have the competency to enter and work in a confined space as per stated in Industrial Code of Practice for Safe Working in a Confined Space ICOP (2010) and Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) such as:
- Supervisors – Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) & Authorised Gas Tester and Entry Supervisor (AGTES) for Confined Space certificate.
- Workers – Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) for Confined Space certificate
We will develop Emergency Preparedness & Evacuation Drills with respect to clients Safety Policy. Then, we will then train the respective personnel including the management team on the developed Emergency Preparedness & Evacuation Drills.
We well able to do the following:
- Chemical Health Risk Assessment & Monitoring (CHRA) in compliance with the Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health (USECHH) Regulations 2000 to be conducted in accordance with an approved method of sampling and analysis for the chemical hazardous to health.
- Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) system is commonly used to remove hazardous gases, fume, vapours and dust from workplace. Testing and inspection services ensure that the system are suitable for the purpose of controlling chemical hazardous to health and remain within specification and permissible exposure limit in compliance with USECHH 2000 requirements.
- Noise Monitoring will be conducted by qualified and experienced competent person to evaluate employee’s exposure to noise. Personal monitoring will be carried out among the employees using the Noise Dosimeter. Sound level meter will be used to identify the noise sources as well as their levels and types of noise that exposed to the employees. Other than that, noise mapping also will be carried out to identify zones with Noise Level less or greater than 85dB (A).
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) simply refers to the quality of the air in an occupied building environment. A complete assessment to assess the IAQ level at the workplace by walk-through survey to identify the potential indicators of concern including pollutant sources, pollutant pathways, ventilations, microbiological agents and others. Next, is to develop corrective action plans.
EIA is required under Section 34A, Environmental Quality Act 1974. A study will be done to identify, predict, evaluate and communicate information about the impacts on the environment of a proposed project. A written report of the observation will be submitted to the client.
We will assist our client to manage the safety and health risks in a construction project with regards to preventing accident at the construction site involving their workers or other person at the construction site.
We will assist the client in liaising with the local Safety Council e.g. DOSH in pre-construction, during construction and post construction.
In the event of an accident on site, we will assist the client in running the accident investigation and then determine the cause of the accident. Finally we will submit the findings and recommend the necessary measures to prevent further incidents from happening.
We will assist the client in all setting up and auditing all the required documentation for the application of OHSAS 18001.
